Fondue is a dish that originated in Switzerland, where the earliest known recipe was printed in a 1699 cookbook. The Swiss motto is "fondue isch guet und git e gueti luune", which translates as “fondue is good and creates a good mood". For the uninitiated, fondue is essentially the art of dipping delectable morsels into a variation of oil, wine, broth, gooey melted cheese, or creamy chocolate.
