Grand Maitre Wine Vintage 2022 (75cl)

rand Maître is crafted from a premium blend of hand-picked Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes, carefully harvested from our privately owned estate, Għajn Riħana, nestled in the serene foothills between Bidnija and Wardija. It is the epitome of our commitment to quality and winemaking.

The 2022 vintage was characterised by dry, warm weather with above-average temperatures throughout most months. Annual rainfall was extremely low, barely reaching 400mm. June and July experienced long heatwaves, but the year had more sunlight than usual. The late bud burst was offset by the warmer late spring and summer conditions and increased sun exposure. As a result, the vintage produced excellent red grapes with high alcohol potential, concentrated polyphenols, and exceptional complexity. Deep in ruby colour, with concentrated aromas of black cherry and black plum, balanced by elements of sweet spice and cedar. The palate is very structured, with velvety tannins and a full body, ending on notes of vanilla and blackberries.
